February 26, 2022 marks the 90th anniversary of the birth of Felix Fedorovich Bezdudny, Vice-Rector for Scientific Work, Head of the Department of Management of Saint-Petersburg State University of Technology and Design (now Saint-Petersburg State University of Industrial Technologies and Design), Honored Worker of Science and Technology of the RSFSR, Honored Engineer of Russia, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor.
In 1955-58, Felix Fedorovich was a student of the Leningrad Institute of Textile and Light Industry, from which he graduated with honors in the specialty “Economics and rationing of labor and wages of enterprises of industrial consumer goods”.
Scientific work was an absolute priority of Felix Fedorovich Bezdudny. In 1964 he completed his postgraduate studies, in March 1965 he defended his PhD thesis, in 1967 he was awarded the academic title of associate professor, already in 1970 he brilliantly defended his dissertation for the degree of Doctor of Technical Sciences, in 1971 Felix Fedorovich was awarded the academic title of professor.
In 1984, he became Vice-rector for Scientific Work.
Felix Fedorovich Bezdudny was at the origins of the formation of a new direction in economics - Economic and Mathematical Modeling and Cybernetics, actively participated in pedagogical activities, introduced new disciplines and forms of education.
While serving as Vice-Rector for Research, the professor headed the international activities of the university, which then became an independent direction. During his foreign trips, creative and scientific ties were established with scientists from Germany, France, Great Britain and other countries.
Having headed the department for more than 37 years, the professor has formed a scientific and pedagogical team, trained a large number of doctors and candidates of sciences, specialists in the field of economics and management. His students work in senior positions in the apparatus of public administration, in universities, in various industries in Russia, CIS countries, as well as abroad - in Germany, Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Bangladesh, in the Baltic countries.
The traditions laid down by Felix Fedorovich Bezdudny are preserved in the structural divisions of the university, where many are proud to be able to call a professor their teacher.
